New things to come...
I am working on redirecting my focus on getting my art and ideas out in the open. In the past I have been very reluctant to have a website or utilize my blog as a way to post what is going on in my thinking and working process. Even though this is mostly where my art as of late has been inspired. Thanks to friends encouragement and recently acquiring a studio space, I hope I will begin to share more of my process web-wise than I have managed to in the past. And this 'note' is going to hold me accountable!

new to me a second and third time
have you ever lived in a place for so long, left it, and then returned to it a second or third time? i am attempting a new project to force myself to love something as it grows away from me, as it turns into something i cannot control and as of late doesn't sit as well with me as it used to. it's my city: san francisco. this is going to start with walking...and collecting...

2000 Vote, part of 'Speakers'
this is one voice of many in the responses elizabeth and i have collected for this project we are working on called 'speakers' we have been asking one question of the locals from the surrounding towns, all the same question, and recording their response. all the responses then are being looped back to back in speakers divided up by themes of what people chose to talk about. the question: "CAN YOU DESCRIBE FOR US A SPECIFIC SITUATION OR INCIDENT WHERE YOU FELT THAT YOU WERE NOT HEARD?"

draw in

this is one of my favorite images of the coloring book. another collaborative project with elizabeth where we went to a local elementary school and hung out in the art room for a day with the fourth grade class and had them do drawings with specific themes. it was a riot and the kids had a lot of fun knowing their artwork would be in our MFA show. then we had them write up little statement about themselves to be more legitimate little artistes. we are getting the coloring book printed through apex book manufacturing in georgia, rick the owner has been amazingly patient with us and our absolute lack of professionality as graphic designers, which we are not. the proof of the book looks great, i will up load a photo soon.
SPEAKERS

elizabeth and i are frantically trying to get our collaborative projects done for our thesis show, here is rough sketch of the STRUCTURE for the sound piece...
